From an intimate handa to a full-blown fiesta, here's how to pick so no one leaves hungry.

Rules of thumb

• If lechon is the main dish, lean to the larger size for your headcount.
• If it's one of several dishes, the lower end of the range is fine.
• Filipino gatherings grow — sizing up a notch is rarely a regret, and leftovers reheat beautifully.
